No account required. If you play Ranked mode, an anonymous player identity and a username you choose are created, without needing an email or password.
Your game progress (lives, jokers, gold) is stored only on your own device; anonymous usage data like which modes you play, your daily streak, and purchase counts is also saved to our servers under a device-specific identifier.
In Online Duel, the nickname and room data you enter travels through Google Firebase only to sync you with the person you're matched with.
In Ranked mode, the username and trophy count you choose are shown publicly to other players on the leaderboard.
Ads are served through Google AdMob; we ask for consent via Google's UMP form if you're connecting from the EU/UK/Switzerland. On iOS we also ask for Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission — if you allow it, ads may be personalized to your interests; if not, ads stay non-personalized.
We use the TikTok Business SDK to measure whether the ads we run on TikTok are working; this shares your advertising identifier and some in-app events (winning the Daily Word, purchases) with TikTok.
We never see your payment details — Apple/Google process purchases directly.
01 Data we collect
Kelime Arası doesn't require an email, phone number, or password to sign up. Unless you play Ranked mode, you can use the app without giving us any identifying information at all. The data below is created only when you use the corresponding feature:
On-device game data: your lives, joker/gold balance, and theme/sound settings are stored in your device's local storage (AsyncStorage). This part never leaves your device, and disappears if you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Anonymous usage data: which modes you play, your session length, your daily streak, how often you answer correctly at each difficulty, whether you've viewed the Plus/Gold screens, and your purchase counts are saved to our servers under a randomly generated, device-specific identifier (no name, email, or account info). Part of this identifier (kept in the iOS Keychain, or an Android device identifier) can stay the same even if you delete and reinstall the app — its only purpose is counting distinct devices accurately, not linking data to your real identity.
Online Duel: when you create or join a room, the nickname you enter, the room code, and that round's game state (guesses, boundary words, timer) are temporarily relayed through Google Firebase (Firestore) solely to keep your device in sync with your opponent's.
Ranked mode: the first time you open this mode, an anonymous player identity is created through Google Firebase Authentication, without requiring an email or password. The username you choose, your trophy count, and your win/loss/draw record are saved to our servers under this identity and shown publicly to other players on the leaderboard. Opponent matching and the state of matches you play (guesses, boundary words, turn timing) are also temporarily stored in Firestore for this purpose.
Advertising identifiers: Google AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) to serve ads and, if you consent (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS), to personalize them based on your interests. The TikTok Business SDK may also use this identifier and some in-app events (winning the Daily Word, app opens, purchases) to measure how our TikTok ad campaigns are performing.
Purchases: "Kelime Arası Pro" and gold packs are processed directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your card details or payment information, only confirmation that a purchase went through and (for ad measurement) the purchase amount.
Notifications: if "Daily Reminder" is enabled, the reminder itself is scheduled on your device; to actually deliver it, your push notification identifier, language, country, and a summary of the hours you usually open the app are also saved to our servers.

03 Advertising and consent
If you're connecting from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through Google's consent (UMP) form before showing personalized ads — you can change this choice at any time. On iOS, accessing your device's advertising identifier additionally requires Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission; if you decline, ads continue to show, just without personalization based on your interests. Purchasing "Kelime Arası Pro" removes all ads entirely.
04 Children's privacy
Kelime Arası isn't specifically marketed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If a parent believes their child has shared data through the app, they can reach us at the contact address below and we'll review the deletion request.
05 Retention and security
Your lives/joker/gold data stays on your device and is never shared with us. Room/game data written to Firebase for Online Duel is kept only for that round's matchmaking. Anonymous usage data and notification records are linked to a randomly generated, device-specific identifier — never to your real name, email, or account. Your Ranked mode player identity is likewise never linked to your real name or email, but the username and trophy count tied to it are shown publicly on the leaderboard, so we recommend not choosing a username that is your real name or otherwise identifies you. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure.
06 Your rights
Under GDPR (EU) and Turkey's KVKK, you have the right to access, correct, or delete data processed about you, and to object to its processing. Since nearly all data we hold lives on your own device, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage from your device settings already removes most of it. If you've played Ranked mode, you can permanently delete your username, trophies, and match history at any time via "Delete Ranked Profile" in Settings. 07 Changes
We may update this policy from time to time — the "last updated" date on this page reflects any meaningful change. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the current policy.
